Kaylin's Bat Mitzvah weekend May 6-8, 2022
Dear Family and Friends,
We are very excited. Our daughter, Kaylin will become a Bat Mitzvah on May 7, 2022. This ceremony is an important event in our life, marking Kaylin’s entrance into the adult Jewish community. At the age of thirteen, she becomes ethically and morally responsible for her own behavior. Kaylin has already begun preparing for this day through her studies in religious and Hebrew School. In the coming months, Kaylin will learn to read special texts in Hebrew, study them and develop her own understanding of the texts. The service culminates this period of study.
Kaylin will participate in the Friday night Shabbat Service on May 6 at Congregation Shir Hadash which all guests will be invited to attend. Following a tradition linking generations of Jews, the morning of Saturday, May 7th at Congregation Shir Hadash, Kaylin will take an active role leading the service as part of her Bat Mitzvah, where Kaylin will read from the Torah and explain these texts to the congregation. In celebration of Kaylin's Bat Mitzvah, we will conclude the day with a special celebration Saturday night at San Jose Country Club. For those of you who are family and friends traveling from out of town to join us for this celebration, we will host brunch Sunday morning May 8th.
This is an important day for our family and we hope you will plan to share it with us.
We can’t wait to share this special time with you!
